Classics offers three (3) separate minors: Latin, Greek, and Classical Civilization (15 credits each).

  • Latin: Any 5 courses in Latin, including Latin 152 Latin Prose Comp (15 credits). Latin I-IV do count towards the minor, and may simultaneously satisfy the COAS language requirement.
  • Greek: Any 5 courses in Ancient Greek (15 credits). Greek I-IV do count towards the minor, and may simultaneously satisfy the COAS language requirement.
  • Classical Civilization: Any 5 courses in Classics (CLAS) chosen in consultation with the directors of Classical Studies.

 

Classics is also closely affiliated with an interdisciplinary major-concentration, offering both a major and a minor in Interdisciplinary Humanities: Ancient and Modern which is offered through the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS).
